Evidence
Checklist

A checklist for GTV, EB-1A and NIW

Build one factual base that can be checked, then organise it for the UK Global Talent Visa, US EB-1A or NIW. This list is for early preparation. It does not replace advice on a particular case.

01 COMMON CORE

The factual base all three routes need

More material is not better material. Each result should be able to answer what happened, what you did, who can confirm it, and what changed because of it.

01

Identity and thread
A factually accurate CV, a career timeline, and a field and core contribution you can say in one sentence.

02

A list of results
Awards, projects, products, papers, patents, press, judging, talks, revenue or user figures, each with a date and your role.

03

Independent proof
Prefer institution pages, press records, databases, contracts, financial or professional documents that a third party can check. Do not rely on your own description alone.

04

Reach and context
Explain what a number means, which places or people it covers, why it matters against the usual level in the field, and keep the source.

05

A recommender map
Field, role, relationship, how long they have known the work, and the specific results they can confirm independently. Avoid letters that repeat each other.

06

A future plan
The target country, the work you propose, staged goals, the partners or resources, and how the past record makes the plan executable.

02 ROUTE LENS

Put the same result into the right kind of proof

GTV

Recognition and trajectory

Confirm the endorsing field and whether the case is Talent or Promise, then prepare the CV, letters and evidence to that field’s rules. Digital technology, research, and arts and culture are not the same file.

EB-1A

Sustained acclaim and the whole record

Beyond the regulatory category, show that the evidence is authoritative, independent and connected, so it supports sustained national or international acclaim.

USCIS EB-1 page ↗
NIW

The endeavor and value to the United States

Confirm the EB-2 base, then connect the proposed endeavor, its national importance, your ability to advance it, and the reason to waive the job offer and labor certification.

03 QUALITY CONTROL

Four consistency checks people miss before filing

Dates agree
Months and years in the CV, forms, letters, press and project documents must not conflict.
Roles agree
Distinguish founder, lead, core contributor and adviser. Do not inflate a title past the work.
Numbers can be traced
Revenue, users, citations, audience, funding or growth figures need a source and a definition.
Translations match
The English translation should track the original item by item. Names, institutions and terms stay the same across the file.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Evidence questions

Is a screenshot of a news story enough?

A screenshot usually does not show the source, date, author, audience and your specific contribution. Keep a working link, the full page, the publication details and any context you need, and check that the piece is actually about you or your work.

Can the same evidence be used for GTV, EB-1A and NIW?

The underlying facts can be shared. Each route asks a different question. Explain the link to recognition, to sustained acclaim, to a specific contribution, or to the future endeavor. Do not paste the same caption into every file.

Are more recommendation letters always better?

No. Standing, independence, how well the person knows the work, and the checkable facts in the letter matter more than the count. UK endorsing fields and US routes also ask for different things.

How should non-English materials be prepared?

Keep a clear, complete original, then prepare an English translation that meets the filing requirement. Names, institutions, dates, amounts, titles and project names should match across the CV, forms, letters and evidence captions.

EVIDENCE REVIEW

Inventory the evidence,
then choose the lead route.

Send a Chinese or English CV, the target country, your current status and your timing. An initial read looks for results that can be checked, the gaps, and which routes are worth comparing in more depth.
